About the Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to help shape TFH’s on-the-ground expansion strategy across the APAC region, functioning as a regional general counsel. You will serve as the primary legal lead for the region, driving responsible global growth by assessing threshold legal risks and regulatory requirements for new markets, supporting business needs in the region, informing market-entry decisions, and monitoring legal developments to ensure ongoing compliance.
This role spans a broad range of legal disciplines, including regulatory, commercial, financial regulation, product, privacy, labor & employment, and litigation, and is inherently cross-functional. You will work most closely with TFH’s Expansion and Operations teams, while also collaborating with colleagues across Product, Trust & Safety, Logistics, Financial Compliance, Communications, Marketing, and Policy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead legal strategy as regional general counsel, focusing on market entry and expansion across APAC, supporting jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction assessments, and providing ongoing legal guidance to enable execution of our ambitious growth plan.
Identify and analyze threshold risks in new markets, including privacy, data protection, financial regulation, labor & employment, commercial, and consumer-protection laws.
Engage and manage local counsel in each jurisdiction to secure clear, actionable, and cost-effective legal input.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Operations, Expansion, and Legal counterparts (Product, Privacy, Compliance, Corporate, and Financial Regulatory) to ensure regulatory submissions and operations are accurate and compliant with local requirements.
Develop deep business understanding across product, trust & safety, corporate, policy, and communications functions, and synthesize these inputs into clear, practical legal advice tailored to each jurisdiction.
Build and maintain strong internal relationships with stakeholders involved in expansion and operations, ensuring legal advice is timely, pragmatic, and aligned with TFH’s growth objectives.
Monitor evolving legal and regulatory landscapes to proactively identify risks and opportunities, and advise on policy or process adjustments as needed.
Foster collaboration across TFH Legal and business teams, contributing to consistent, coordinated, and efficient legal support globally.
Engage hands-on in legal matters, providing direct and practical support to business teams.
About You
Experience: 7+ years post-qualification experience as a practicing attorney, ideally combining top-tier law firm training with in-house experience at a global technology, fintech, blockchain company, or other high growth start up.
Legal Qualification: Qualified lawyer in good standing with eligibility to practice in an APAC jurisdiction.
Regulatory Experience: Demonstrated experience navigating multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks and supporting international market expansion.
International Exposure: Experience working, living, or advising across multiple APAC jurisdictions; ability and willingness to travel regularly within the region.
Hands-On Mindset: Creative and pragmatic problem solver who understands operational realities and builds scalable solutions for complex, fast-changing environments.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of conveying complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
Project Management: Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results efficiently and on time.
Interest: Curiosity about blockchain, Web3, and digital-asset regulation.
Team Culture: Positive, collaborative attitude with high integrity, resilience, and adaptability; comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Language: Fluency in English required; additional regional language proficiency is a plus.
The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH ranges from $265,000 SGD - $320,000 SGD, plus a competitive long term incentive package.
