Verify at an Orb
The Orb is a safe device that proves you’re human without needing to share your name or personal information.
Unlike a fingerprint or facial recognition, it proves that you’re unique in the world.
It takes photos of your face and eyes, processes them, sends them to your phone, and then deletes them from the Orb.
No one has access to your photos.

You have full control over your data. After verifying your humanness, the data is encrypted, sent to your phone, and permanently deleted from the Orb. Your data and your World ID only live on your phone. You can delete your data at any time from the World App in the Settings tab. Find more information at world.org/privacy.
Yes, the Orb is safe and will not harm your eyes. It is a camera designed to take close-up images of your eyes and your face.
People under 18 cannot use any World services, including verifying a World ID at an Orb.
During registration, users must confirm they are 18 or older by entering their date of birth and accepting our Terms of Service. This information is used only to verify eligibility and is not recorded or stored. If you enter a date of birth indicating you are under 18, access to the World App will be blocked.
In the World App, tap the Settings icon and then Support. From there, tap the Headphones icon to chat directly with an agent, or browse helpful articles. The Support Chat is the official channel for assistance related to World.
