Senior Strategy & Operations Manager, Market Operations

Munich — Operations

About the Company:

World is building a real human network designed to accelerate people in the age of AI. As bots and autonomous agents reshape the internet, people, institutions, and applications need a trusted way to confirm who is a real human while preserving privacy. Our products make this possible: the Orb verifies real people, World ID proves it privately, and World App enables and distributes the new applications made possible by this technology. Together, they form a new layer for AI internet.

We’re one of the fastest-growing networks in tech. More than 17 million people across 160 countries have verified with World ID, and we complete over 350,000 verifications each week. World App is already among the most used wallets globally. Developers are integrating World ID to build safer online experiences and create spaces where real people can participate, earn, and be recognized in ways AI simply can’t replicate.

World was founded in 2019 and launched globally in 2023. We are more than 400 people across hardware, software, AI, cryptography, mobile engineering, and global operations. Our teams come from OpenAI, Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, Google, Stripe, Meta, Coinbase, Palantir and MIT Media Lab. We’re backed by leading investors, including a16z, Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital Crypto, Blockchain Capital, Variant, Tiger Global, and Coinbase Ventures, as well as prominent operators and founders across fintech and AI.

World has been featured on the cover of TIME Magazine, highlighted in Fast Company’s Next 5 in Fintech, and explored in a Bloomberg deep dive. The New York Times, Bankless and TechCrunch have all recognized our progress in identity, cryptography, AI, and global-scale hardware deployment. Our leadership is also named to the Time AI 100. About the Team:

The Market Operations team is responsible for driving the successful launch, growth, and ongoing performance of World’s operations in markets around the world. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, ensuring that World’s unique model of verifying humanness through a global network of Orb Operators is implemented effectively, sustainably, and at scale. We collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize our growth strategy, design and improve operational processes, manage local partnerships, and deliver exceptional user and Operator experiences. Because every market has its own cultural, regulatory, and logistical nuances, the Market Operations team must combine analytical rigor with adaptability and deep local insight. We are known for our analytical rigor, operational excellence, on-the-ground problem solving, and relentless focus on execution and impact.

About the Opportunity:

As Strategy & Operations Manager, Market Operations, you will be the operational backbone to the leadership of the global Market Operations team. Your work will sit at the intersection of strategy, execution, and stakeholder management, ensuring the team operates with clarity, speed, and accountability across all markets and workstreams. You will work directly with the Chief Economist & Chief Market Operations Officer, the Deputy Head of Market Operations, and the VP of Markets.

You will shepherd the team's most important strategic initiatives: stepping in directly on high-priority projects, owning the forecasting and planning cycle across markets, and advancing the business development pipeline for World ID integrations. You will be the team's analytical anchor: maintaining a living market overview that is always current and accessible, and conducting in-depth analyses on strategic and operational questions that inform senior leadership decisions.

You will own the team's program management office, driving accountability across all active workstreams and ensuring deliverables land on time and at quality. You will keep the organization informed and aligned — through town hall presentations, leadership updates, and other recurring communications. You will manage the team's hiring pipeline and org design, and you will run the weekly steering group cadence to ensure leadership time is spent on the right topics.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the organization (including Legal, Policy, Product, Engineering, and Partnerships). This is a role for someone who combines the analytical rigor of a consultant with the executional drive of an operator — and who thrives in a high-ownership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Initiatives

    • Advance the local and regional business development pipeline for World ID integrations, ensuring momentum and follow-through on active conversations

    • Own the forecasting and planning cycle with all markets to create forward transparency for Market Operations leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., hardware production needs)

    • Step in directly on high-priority projects, taking full ownership of execution from problem definition to delivery

  • Market Intelligence & Analysis

    • Maintain a living market overview — always current and accessible — covering core metrics, country strategy, operating models, and a rolling summary of the legal, policy, and privacy landscape, compiled in close coordination with the markets’ general managers and cross-functional stakeholders

    • Conduct in-depth analyses on strategic and operational questions (e.g., evaluation of operating model effectiveness, marketing opportunities, partnership opportunities), translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership

    • Work closely with our Economics and Data Science teams on advanced analysis questions

  • Program Management & Execution

    • Own the team's PMO: track all active workstreams, follow up on deliverables, and hold contributors accountable to timelines and quality

    • Join key leadership meetings, ensuring decisions are captured, followed up, and acted on

  • Organisational Effectiveness

    • Manage the team's hiring pipeline and org charts, keeping everything up to date and serving as a thought partner on org design decisions

    • Run the weekly steering group cadence: own the agenda, surface the right topics, and ensure productive use of leadership time

  • Communications & Stakeholder Alignment

    • Prepare materials that keep the organization informed and aligned — town hall presentations, leadership updates, and other recurring materials

    • Coordinate timely, high-quality contributions from across the team for all shared deliverables

About You:

  • You have an excellent educational background. You hold a BSc in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, engineering, or economics; an advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or PhD) is a plus.

  • You have extensive professional experience. You have 10+ years of experience in project, data, tech, or leadership roles, including at least 3 years at a top consulting firm or in a comparable role.

  • You have strong analytical foundations. You are proficient in spreadsheet modeling, comfortable working with large datasets, and experienced in drawing insights from data analyses.

  • You get things done. You have a track record of leading projects end-to-end, with measurable outcomes. You default to action and you demonstrate radical ownership. You know how to get things done through others — even when the path runs through people and teams you don't control.

  • You communicate with extreme clarity and precision. Your written and spoken English is excellent. Your communication is crisp, clear, and founded in facts; you present confidently to senior leadership.

  • You are highly organized and tooling-literate. You are proficient with Notion, Linear, or similar project and knowledge management tools, and you bring rigor to how you track, prioritize, and communicate work. Experience with AI tools to improve performance is a plus.

  • You thrive in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment. You enjoy working across a broad range of topics, and you are energized by ambiguity.

  • You have experience in a technical or science-led organisation. You are comfortable working alongside product, engineering, or research teams and can engage substantively with their work.
