Worldcoin Foundation announces one year reservation extension

Shortly after the launch of Worldcoin in July 2023, the Worldcoin Foundation introduced WLD grant reservations, allowing individuals without a verified World ID to reserve WLD tokens* to be redeemed at a later date. 

This was done to enable as many people as possible to participate in the Worldcoin project, regardless of orb availability.

Reserved tokens were initially available for one year, giving individuals time to verify their World ID and redeem their WLD grant reservations. For anyone who began reserving tokens shortly after launch, this meant that the redemption deadline was approaching in July 2024.

That timeline has now been extended an additional year, meaning that all WLD grant reservations made between July 24, 2023 and July 31, 2024 will now be valid and redeemable until July 31, 2025. New reservations will be available until July 31, 2024. 

This extension aligns with Worldcoin’s long term oriented mission of providing everyone access to the global economy and ensuring as many people as possible can benefit from participation in the project.
