Der Start von World ID in Guatemala, Malaysia und Polen kommt zu einem entscheidenden Zeitpunkt für die KI.

World ID orb verifications have launched in three new countries this week: Guatemala, Malaysia and Poland.

The new launches come on the heels of a summer that saw significant growth in both the advancement of AI and its corresponding potential for costly online fraud

Against this backdrop, interest in proof of humanness has been steadily expanding. In addition to more World ID launches in Europe and South America, a series of surveys in countries like Korea and Portugal have underscored just how relevant the ability to differentiate between bots and humans online has become.

To help address these concerns, Worldcoin announced the test launch of its new Face Auth feature last week that makes proof of humanness verification online even more secure. The announcement was accompanied by the release of the Worldcoin privacy whitepaper which details the four privacy pillars around which the project is built.

Guatemala survey results reinforce need to identify bots online

Similar to those living in other countries around the world, a recent Ipsos/TFH survey in Guatemala revealed a growing desire among Guatemalans to know who’s a human and who’s a bot online.

Of the 500 respondents:

  • 83% said they’re at least somewhat concerned about knowing whether content was generated by a human or a bot online
  • 84% said they’re at least somewhat concerned that the rise of increasingly powerful AI models will further amplify the difficulty in distinguishing between humans and bots
  • 88% said they support the development of new technologies to verify who is human online

In addition, 9 in 10 respondents reported that they had either been the victim of online fraud or identity theft themselves or knew someone who was.

Beginning on September 25, orbs will be available in Guatemala City. Anyone 18+ interested in verifying their World ID can book an appointment by downloading World App.
