World ID is the anonymous proof of human for the age of AI.
World ID offers you unmatched control over your information. Once you have a verified World ID, you can use it to securely and anonymously prove that you are a real and unique human (not a bot), without revealing who you are.
With World ID, we rethink internet identity. This will become increasingly relevant with the rise of artificial intelligence and more sophisticated bots that behave like humans.
We don’t want to know who you are, just that you are human.
World ID is made possible by cryptographic technologies like Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs), which can prove both that your World ID is real and that you have never done the action you are trying to do before – all without ever revealing who you are.
It can be used for easy online verification like signing into social apps and ensuring fair online activities like voting or buying concert tickets.
Your data is encrypted and stored on your device.
“Personal Custody” means that the information generated at the Orb when you verify your World ID (images, metadata and derived data, including the iris code) is held on your device. Unless you actively decide to share it, no one else has your Orb data but you.
And just as importantly, the entire Personal Custody system has been designed to keep your data secure even if your phone gets compromised.
If you choose to find an Orb and verify your World ID, your data will be encrypted and stored on your device, giving you full control of your data. And you can delete it at any time.
Download World App to get your free World ID.
Then, verify your World ID at an Orb. Within World App, go to Settings > Find an Orb.
