About the Role

We are seeking a Camera System Validation Engineer to join our device engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating and characterizing cutting-edge camera modules and imaging systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, reliability, and quality standards. You will work across hardware, firmware, and software teams to develop test methodologies, analyze imaging performance, and support the integration of camera technology into consumer devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and execute validation plans for camera systems including sensors, optics, and image processing pipelines.

  • Characterize imaging performance (e.g., resolution, noise, color accuracy, distortion, HDR, low-light, thermal behavior).Build automated test setups and scripts to accelerate validation and regression testing.

  • Collaborate with optics, hardware, and software teams to debug camera system issues and optimize performance.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis on system-level camera failures and propose corrective actions.

  • Document validation methodologies, test results, and performance reports for internal stakeholders.Support supplier engagement for camera module validation and quality assurance.

  • Contribute to long-term test infrastructure and tool development for scalable validation.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in camera system validation, imaging performance analysis, or related areas.

  • Solid understanding of camera sensor technology, optics, ISP pipelines, and image quality metrics.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, or similar) for data analysis and automation.

  • Experience with camera test equipment (charts, light sources, goniometers, spectrometers).

  • Strong debugging skills for hardware/software/firmware integration issues.

  • Familiarity with image processing algorithms and validation methodologies.

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment with a hands-on approach. Proven ability to design, implement, and execute comprehensive camera validation test plans.
